06 October 2024 - Mabula; Day 3
A good sleep and an early pre-dawn start as we headed to one of the larger water-bodies for our morning camping coffee leg stretch, stopping for a small herd of magnificent Eland on the way.

We found a good spot at the dam where the smell of the bush was joined by the aroma of fresh coffee, as were watched quite keenly by a bull Hippo who later moved off to join the rest of the pod opposite to where we had parked

On the way back to the lodge, this Warthog with a really impressive set of trophy tusks had us stopping to admire

Back at the lodge, a hearty breakfast after which we had to pack and bid our farewell to Richard and Shirley who were staying on another night. As always, a thoroughly enjoyable weekend spent with good friends who share the same interests and outlooks.
