03 January 2024 - Hermanus; Day 13
The wind scuppered our plans to visit Gaansbaai, so instead we opted for a walk along the boardwalk from Kwaaiwater together with Guy and Sonja. It is an awesome walk with many others and their dogs choosing to do the same.
I lagged behind every now and then to grab a few images of the few species I saw, like these Common Tern

Some passing Kelp Gull's
Kelp Gull (Larus dominicanus) |
and of course the more prolific Hartlaub's Gull
Hartlaub's Gull (Chroicocephalus hartlaubii) |
We stopped for coffee at one of the stalls off the boardwalk and had a White-necked Raven drop in
White-necked Raven (Corvus albicollis) |
It was then a slow walk back to our cars with our takeaway coffee's, where again I stopped to enjoy a small party of Greater Striped Swallow's collecting mud from a small pool next to the boardwalk

Later in the afternoon, we drove back to Cape Town to pick up Jaden and Jack and then enjoyed a late afternoon drink with our good friends Eric and Kari at the Table Bay Hotel in the V&A Waterfront before heading back to Hermanus
