15 September 2023 - Beaulieu Bird Sanctuary
I had to drop our dogs off at the kennels and made a quick stop at Beaulieu Bird Sanctuary on the way back home.
I love the backlit Strelitzia's - they almost look like they are on fire

I heard a tapping in a Paperbark Tree in the car park and connected with a male Cardinal Woodpecker as it alternated between foraging and calling

Inside the Sanctuary, a Red-throated Wryneck revealed itself, after I heard it calling

I observed one of a pair of Southern Fiscal's bring it's mate some food - interesting behaviour that I hadn't seen before

Before leaving, I walked along the dam and had a good flight opportunity of a single African Wattled Lapwing - look carefully and you will see it's wing spurs
