26 December 2022 - Plett to George, Monate Eco Estate; Day 4
It was a perfect day for the 1.5 hour drive to George from Plett where we were going to meet up with our good friends Pete and Elaine Grindlay for our annual catch-up braai. Its annual, as Pete reluctantly leaves George to come up to Gauteng for any reason and it is understandable once you have seen the view from their house in the Eco Estate.
We arrived mid-morning and after a few welcome drinks had a walk in a stiff breeze on the cliffs above Herold's Bay. Kelp Gulls were enjoying the wind and performing some moves above and below us

Due to the wind, most land birds were keeping a low profile, but walking the single track down toward Herold's Bay we did encounter quite a few Southern Rock Agama's well camouflaged against the rocks of similar colour

We found this interesting small moth under one of the lights at the house

But for the most of the day it was good conversation, banter and a lot of laughs over good food and wine - perfect!
When we got home in the late afternoon, we had a drive to the Lookout view point and then a slow walk on the beach, where I bumped into my little friend again...
