Pensive end to 2021

31 December 2021 - Plettenberg Bay; Day 9

The whole family was feeling grim, despite waking up to this view.

A new day dawns on the last day of 2021

So, it was off to the Dr. on the last day of the year to discover we had symptoms synonymous with Omicron, that was quite prevalent in Plett again. Since we all had the same symptoms, the Dr. suggested my wife take the Covid test and if she was positive, we all were.

We waited in the car whilst she had her test when I found this gorgeous little Gold-spotted Sylph which has quite a restricted distribution

Gold-spotted Sylph (Metisella m. metis)

The rest of the day was spent in the apartment playing cards whilst we rested and took it easy, but sub-consciously aware that we were probably positive after avoiding Covid for almost 2-years.
